Maranto’s is owned and run by the Maranto family, and with Italian American heritage it’s not surprising that they share a love of food, wine and friends with a particularly knack for putting the three together. That’s probably why Maranto’s has been a renowned foodie favourite for more than three decades, evolving with Liverpool’s vibrant food and drink scene whilst maintaining all of its original charm and character.
What we offer
Located in the creative and cosmopolitan hub of Lark Lane, Maranto’s offers everything from traditional Italian cuisine to contemporary classics, not to mention a varied drinks menu that boasts everything from fine wine to cocktails alongside a plentiful choice of beers and spirits.
Occupying a Victorian Grade-II listed building, Maranto’s combines unique décor that integrates historical architectural salvage – such as decorative cast iron from railway stations and antique Tiffany lamps – in a bright and modern space. Spanning two floors with the addition of a balcony bar, Maranto’s is a long-standing gem in the heart of Lark Lane and is proud to be part of Liverpool’s rich history.
During the 19th century, the building served a diverse range of occupants including a chemist, a plumber’s merchant, hosier and even operated as a mission chapel.
Moving into the 20th century, it was used as ‘cocoa rooms’ for local workers and their families and went on to become a launderette, a skating academy and a site for a motor company.
A child welfare centre and an antique dealer occupied the building during the ‘Swinging Sixties’ and the venue was used by a manufacturer of window blinds until the Maranto family took over in 1983.
